Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between page loads — like the fact that you are signed in, or the language you prefer. Some cookies are essential for a site to work at all; others are optional and used for things like analytics or advertising.
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies Willston uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies we use
Willston is deliberately minimal when it comes to cookies. We only use what we need to keep the service working and to remember your preferences.
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the site to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in or submitting a form. Without these cookies, parts of the site will not work.
- Session cookie — keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Expires when you close your browser or when your session ends.
- CSRF token cookie — protects forms and state-changing requests against cross-site request forgery attacks.
- "Remember me" cookie — only set when you tick the "Remember me" box at sign-in, so you stay signed in across browser restarts.
2.2 Preference cookies
These cookies remember choices you have made so the site behaves the way you expect on your next visit.
- Language — stores the language you have chosen (English, Dutch, or Portuguese) so we serve the site in that language next time.
2.3 Third-party cookies
Some pages embed a third-party security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on our sign-in, sign-up, password-reset, and contact forms. Turnstile may set its own short-lived cookies on the challenges.cloudflare.com domain to detect automated abuse. It does not track you across sites for advertising purposes.
We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies on Willston.
3. How long cookies stay on your device
Cookies are either session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored until they expire or you delete them). Our session and CSRF cookies are session cookies. The language preference and "Remember me" cookies are persistent and last for up to one year unless you clear them sooner.
4. How to control cookies
You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. The exact steps depend on your browser, but you can usually find these options under "Privacy" or "Cookies".
Please note that if you block or delete the strictly necessary cookies, parts of Willston (including sign-in) will stop working.
You can also sign out at any time, which clears your session cookie.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature that requires a new cookie. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
6. Contact
If you have questions about how we use cookies, contact us at legal@willston.com or via our contact form.
